DVM, CVA, CVCHM
Dr. Mendy Leshy is an integrative veterinarian. She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA, Chi University, Reddick, FL), Certified in Chinese Veterinary Herbal Medicine (CVCHM, College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies)and completed a Certificate of Animal Chiropractics (Animal Chiropractic Education Source, Merdian, TX). Dr. Leshy has completed three levels of Healing Touch for Animals (HTA), a holistic approach that uses energy fields to benefit the health and well-being of animals along with level one Usui Reiki Certification. Upon graduating from veterinary school, she completed a 1-year rotating internship and spent two years as a clinical instructor in the Community Practice at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also spent over a decade in specialty practice in Integrative Medicine.
Her interest in holistic medicine started in 2007 when her oldest daughter, who was 6 months old, was diagnosed with eczema. In search of non-traditional ways to help the body heal from this inflammatory skin condition, she was determined not to treat her daughter with topical steroids, so the holistic journey began. These experiences filtered over into how she cared for her own pets and her patients. Dr. Leshy has been fortunate enough to perform acupuncture at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium multiple times, her favorite patient being a Sea Lion. She grew up with dogs, cats, goats and horses.
